Beasley is the Pacman Jones of the NBA, you just don't know it yet. This guy is a straight clown.

He plays in a Summer League here in DC that is very competitive. It is filled with NBA, European, and College players. Guys that play in the league told me that this clown shows up stoned for every game.

I know others that have dealt with him and turned down doing business with him because he is so stupid.

This guy will be a classic underachiever in the NBA because he is getting by with amazing athletic ability right now but will never take his game to that next level.

I can't say I disagree, but smoking marijuana doesn't mean much. Charles Oakley said over 60% of the NBA smokes regularly and it's the norm for players to be playing high all the time.


Marijuana isn't like alcohol, it won't effect you negatively if you're a habitually user and your body is attuned to the effects. It actually might help you as a basketball player.

Well Joshua Pittman of the Argentinan league said it helped him on the court because it eased his anxiety, however they suspended him over it. Actually marijuana is listed as a performance enchancing drug in FIBA's book.

It's well known so many players in the NBA smoke marijuana and play the games while high. Charles Oakley said conservatively 60% smoke and guys are "playing stoned everynight". Obviously it is helping some, or at least not negatively impacting them to a great degree.

I'm not saying if you smoke it's going to enchance your performance, but for a habitual marijuana user you're so comfortable with the effects so I could see how it could help you.

it is sad and TRUE, that the majority used to play stoned,

that one specific issue is what almost sent the NBA into a STRIKE!!!! I bet noone knew that. The players when they were negotiating their contracts with the NBA didnt want to ban it, lolol, and they were going to strike over it! lol

they had no choice but to cave, so the NBA made the ban relatively loose.

if your caught, and how they test, (no suprise testing) ala plenty of time to drink the drink to get it out of system.

Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley has entered a rehabilitation hospital in Houston to address possible substance and psychological issues, Yahoo! Sports reported Monday.

Beasley, who began his NBA career with a $50,000 fine stemming from an incident at the league's annual rookie symposium, checked into an unidentified facility in Houston this past weekend, the report said, citing multiple unnamed sources.

The Heat and the NBA declined comment to Yahoo! Sports, the report said.

Beasley, who averaged 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds during his rookie season, was fined by the NBA in September after acknowledging he was involved in an incident involving teammate Mario Chalmers and Memphis' Darrell Arthur at the Rookie Transition Program that month.

The NBA said Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick, originally failed to cooperate with the league investigation of the matter. The Heat said Beasley eventually chose to reveal that he was part of the incident.

Chalmers and Arthur, former Kansas teammates, were fined $20,000 apiece after being banished from the rookie symposium.

They were found in a room at the resort where the event was taking place with two women -- which violated NBA policy for the event. Security at the resort said the scent of marijuana was detected, but no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found, and Chalmers and Arthur both insisted they were not using any illegal substances.

Beasley's involvement in the incident was unclear.
